Staying safe on MissingNo
The vast majority of trades go smoothly — but here's how the platform protects you when things don't.
Use tracked postage
The single best thing you can do. Without proof of delivery, disputes become he-said she-said. Tracked shipping settles most disagreements before they start.
Check trader reputation
Every user has a public trade history and rating on their profile. Look for completed trades, XP level, and any public feedback before agreeing to a swap.
Opening a dispute
If your card arrives damaged, significantly misgraded, or doesn't arrive at all, open a dispute from the trade detail page before confirming receipt. The admin team will review both sides and mediate.
Reporting a user
Use the Report button on any profile or trade. Reported accounts are reviewed within 24 hours. Repeat bad actors are banned.
What we can't do
MissingNo is a platform — we can't physically retrieve cards or guarantee refunds. What we can do is ban bad actors, mediate fairly, and keep records of every trade for evidence purposes.
Red flags to watch for
- New accounts with zero trade history asking for high-value swaps.
- Pressure to confirm receipt before your parcel actually arrives.
- Requests to trade outside the platform (no protection off-platform).
- Blurry or stock-photo card images instead of real photos.
